That usually means you are generating Theta brain waves of relaxation which induce deep psychological relaxation, as well as physiological regeneration. The therapist's touch is usually enough outer stimulation to keep you from falling into a deep sleep, or into the Delta waves.

As a frame of reference, you would enter the office in the Beta stage. Most clients relax into the next Alpha state which is a relaxed but alert state. Some relax into the Theta waves and just a few actually reach the Delta waves! No matter which "wave you ride", massage is a beneficial addition to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
